Plausible Analytics: We also use Plausible, a privacy-respecting analytics service that does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and is fully hosted in the EU.
4. Cookie Categories
Strictly Necessary
Essential for the website to function. Includes consent management, spam protection (reCAPTCHA), and session handling. These cannot be disabled and do not require consent per ePrivacy Art. 5(3) exemption.
Functional
Remember your preferences (e.g., light/dark theme). Stored in localStorage, not transmitted to servers. Enhance usability without tracking.
Analytics (Optional)
Help us understand how visitors interact with our website. Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity (clicks, scrolling and session replays) are loaded only after explicit consent. Before that, the site sends no request to either of them. You can opt out at any time via the cookie consent banner or footer “Manage Cookies” link.
5. Consent Mechanism (Consent Mode v2)
Our consent implementation follows EDPB Guidelines 05/2020 and Google Consent Mode v2:
- No cookies before consent: Non-essential cookies are only activated after you provide explicit consent.
- Granular choice: Accept All, Reject All, or customize by category.
- Equal prominence: The Reject option is as visible and accessible as Accept (no dark patterns).
- No pre-ticked boxes: All optional categories default to off (per CJEU C-673/17 Planet49).
- Easy withdrawal: Change your preferences at any time via the “Manage Cookies” link in the footer.
- Where your choice is kept: Your choice (which categories you accepted or refused) is stored only in the cookie_consent_v2 cookie in your browser, for 1 year. We do not keep a copy on our servers.
- Consent Mode v2 signals:
ad_storage,ad_user_data,ad_personalization,analytics_storageare set based on your consent choices.
6. Third-Party Services
Some cookies are set by third-party services:
- Google Analytics 4: Anonymized website analytics. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Microsoft Clarity: Records clicks, scrolling and page visits as heatmaps and session replays, only after you accept analytics cookies. Recordings are kept for 30 days; favorites and a random sample kept by Microsoft up to 9 months. Provided by Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd. See Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- Meta Pixel: Ad campaign measurement, only after you accept advertising cookies. See Meta Privacy Policy.
- Google reCAPTCHA: Form abuse protection. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms.
- Plausible Analytics: Privacy-respecting, no cookies, no personal data. See Plausible Data Policy.
- Sentry: Error monitoring for the site. It sets no cookies and sends data only when an error happens; what it receives and how long it is kept is in section 9 of our Privacy Policy.
- Vercel: Hosting provider. See Vercel Privacy Policy.
7. Managing Your Preferences
- Cookie consent banner: Accept, reject, or customize cookies on first visit. Change anytime via “Manage Cookies” in the footer.
- Browser settings: Most browsers allow cookie control via Options/Preferences. Disabling strictly necessary cookies may affect functionality.
- GA opt-out: Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on.
- Google ad settings: Manage at Ads Settings and My Activity.
